Word is Solange Knowles’s husband Daniel Smith is now her ex! Smith told a Houston newspaper that Matthew Knowles paid him $1 million dollars to marry Beyonce's younger sister and that they could annul the marriage in 30 days after the ceremony. Solange gave birth this week and Smith has agreed to help raise their son.
“Technical problems” has been cited why R. Kelly and Jay-Z to cancel two appearances in their continuing Best of Both Worlds concert tour. A show at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 24 and the show scheduled for this Tuesday, October 26th , at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford,Connecticut, have both been cancelled. The tour will resume as scheduled on Thursday, October 28th, when Kelly and Jay-Z kick off the first of five dates in the New York metropolitan area, with a concert at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.
The mid-70s sitcom, “Good Times”, finally has producers for a feature film adaptation. Rodney Omanoff and Graham Kaye won the rights from a long list of suitors that included Wesley Snipes, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and the Wayans family.
An animated sitcom about an early '80s hip-hop crew could be coming to the small screen, thanks to one of the genre's leading figures.Ice Cube, his Cube Vision Productions partner Matt Alvarez, and "Futurama" co-creator David X. Cohen are executive producing a pilot tentatively titled "Grandmaster Freak & the Furious 15" (an obvious nod to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five) for a potential FOX series. The cartoon will center on a 17-year-old hip-hop pioneer and his absurdly large posse in Englewood, New Jersey.
One of the underground’s most talented producers, 9th Wonder from the group Little Brother has landed two tracks on Destiny Child's forthcoming album. Word on the streets is that Jay-Z called and informed him that the trio was looking for tracks. 9th later flew to Los Angeles and contributed two tracks, "Is She the Reason" and "Girl."
Actor/Comedian Eddie Griffin is set to star in the Showtime mini-series on the life of famed comedian Richard Pryor.
Rapper Mase recently collaborated with Mz “Goodies” herself, Ciara. Ciara will appear on a remix of Mase’s “Keep It On.” The song reportedly encourages the ladies to keep their goodies covered up. The remix will also feature an appearance by P. Diddy.
