Chicago - MDWEST GAP Enterprise is proud to present The TRUTH Magazine 3rd
Annual Hip Hop/R&B Awards. This much anticipated event will take place on
Sunday, October 5th, at the IIT Auditorium - Herman Hall (33rd Federal).
This year's star-studded show will feature Roc-a-Fella recording artist
Kanye West and Twista. Other performers include Cash Money, Boo & Gotti,
Mikkey, Dreamworks recording artist J.S., Def Jam recording artist K. Fox,
and So So Def recording artist Da Brat - to name a few. The TRUTH Magazine
Hip Hop/R&B Awards was originated to salute and showcase the talent that has
emerged from the Chicago market.

A Special Recognition Sports award will be given to all-star NBA player Tim
Hardaway. We will honor movie actor Larenz Tate with the Film, T.V. Movie
Award. Confirmed guest and Grammy Award winner R. Kelly, will be the
recipient of the Qunicy Jones Career Achievement award. The Man of the Year
Award will have two recipients this year - WGCI's Crazy Howard McGee, and
David Milliner of the Chicago Defender. There will be a host of celebrities
on hand from film, radio, television, and the business community. LisaRaye
and all-star NBA players such as Juwan Howard and Tim Hardaway have
committed to being presenters, as well as Suzanne Le Mignot of Channel 2 and
George Daniels of George's Music Room. Talent will be awarded in categories
such as Radio Personality, Radio Station DJ, Club DJ, Rap Single, and
Album - through online voting. The award recipients in last year's show were
selected from more than 8,000 voters, who logged in to vote for their

·Sunday October 5th - The TRUTH 3rd Annual Hip Hop/R&B Awards at
IIT Auditorium (VIP reception from 5:00-6:00 PM, followed by the
Awards
Show with 7 performances, 14 voted awards, and 7 special recognition
awards)

·Sunday October 5th - Awards Show after party at Chromium nightclub.
The after party includes an artist Jam Session for winners,
nominees,
presenters, sponsors, and invited guests.

Carl West, the producer of the Awards show and publisher of The TRUTH
Magazine, will be available for interviews upon request. There will also be
interview opportunities with Award Show performers. A standard interview
with photo can be made available.
